At the conclusion of the school year, district eighth grade students have the opportunity to travel as a group to Washington, D.C. to see firsthand what they learned in their U.S. History class. Students and staff chaperones spend three days in the nation’s capital, packing in historic tours, museum visits and even a significant visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier where a few MJHS students are selected for a wreath laying ceremony.
