Have you heard?  Apparently there’s an eclipse happening this afternoon.  The hype is REAL!  Get your glasses ready! Locally, we will see a partial eclipse for 2 hours 32 minutes. Even though we aren’t in the zone of totality, 99.7% of the sun will be obscured by the moon at the peak.  The Eclipse will start at approx. 1:52 P.M. and reach its peak at 3:09.  The eclipse will last here until 4:25 P.M.  Please wear the Eclipse Glasses we passed out in your science classes!  Enjoy the afternoon!  We hope you get a great view!!!

Science Club

Science club is excited to announce that our NASA Rocket Engineer will be returning again this year. All seventh and eighth graders are welcome on Friday, April 19 from 3 to 4:15 PM in Mrs. Alexander‘s room.   Snacks will be served, and prizes will be awarded for stellar rocket launches.  Be prepared to listen, learn and get hands-on with a real NASA engineer!!

Your science teachers want to thank ALL of Mariemont Junior High for participating in our First March Mammal Madness.  It’s been an amazing month filled with surprises at every corner.  In the end, the Great White Shark prevailed!

Special awards will be presented to students in their science classes.  Stay tuned for our grade level winners tomorrow!!  In the meantime, we want to thank all the teachers who participated this year.  The staff member with the BEST bracket with a score of 86 pts. (out of 138 max) is none other than…..Mr. Ballard!   On the other end of the table, with the LOWEST bracket score of 32 pts…we’re sad to say….Mrs. Parr.  We wish the Wolf’s Mona Monkey brought you more luck!

Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Hunt, and Mr. Campbell would like to thank everyone for your participation in a  event  that connected us ALL to new and unusual species in the natural world!
