A team of Mariemont High School students participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Visionaries of the Year competition during the 2023-2024 school year. In the six-week competition, the team, named Warriors for a Cure, raised $53,540.28 to help end blood cancer.
Out of 18 teams in the Cincinnati area, Warriors for a Cure was one of six teams to earn the Hero Award (a designation for teams raising over $50,000) and were the only team to reach and receive the Pillar Award.
Team leaders Simone Kempiners, Sarah Pschesang and Angus Gall would like to thank the Mariemont Community for your support in helping us fight cancer. “We could not have done it without you. The team would also like to thank our community sponsors: United Dairy Farmers, ENT & Allergy Specialists, Professional Radiology, Inc., The David Joseph Company, The Wardrobe, Deer Park Roofing, Malia Ridge (Comey & Shepherd), HLU Consultants, Midwest College Consulting, Queen City Spirit, Clear (eyes + aesthetics) and Eyecare on the Square.”
