Rachel Obringer is the Title 1 reading specialist at Mariemont Elementary. She works with children in grades kindergarten through third grade that need extra support in the area of reading. Mrs. Obringer is trained in Orton Gillingham, Leveled Literacy Intervention and Wilson Fundations. She supports children in small groups and within the whole classroom. Mrs. Obringer graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in Elementary Education in 1996. She received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading Development from Eastern Michigan University in 2001. She was a reading specialist in the Lakota district for many years and taught second grade and multi-age classrooms in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She began her Mariemont career in 2010 at Terrace Park Elementary as the reading specialist. She transitioned to Mariemont Elementary in the same role in 2016. She is passionate about reading and helping all children succeed.
