ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Friday, September 17, 2021

1. The following colleges will visit on Monday:

            1st bell – The College of Wooster

            3rd bell – Marian University

            7th bell – SUNY (State University of New York) at Binghamton

Also Monday, the U.S. Marines will be visiting during 1st bell at 9:00.

 

2. Monday evening at 6:30 the CCPC is hosting a virtual event, the MHS Financial Aid Planning Program.  All MHS families are invited to learn about the FAFSA and how to find the best fit for your student financially. 

 

3. The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati will be hosting a Careers in Construction Event at Homerama on Sunday, September 26th from 9-11am.  Talk directly with professionals and learn how you can become employed in the construction field or gain education and work experience to be ready for jobs in the industry. 

 

4. Attention Key Club members -- remember to pay your dues ($13) to Mrs. MacLeod by today.

 

5. 1N5's Youth Mental Health Innovation Challenge (YMHIC) is scheduled for November 13 & 14.  This is a virtual, two-day workshop where students from across the city & the country come together and brainstorm solutions to various mental health challenge prompts. Students then pitch their ideas to the 1N5 staff. See the counseling page on Schoology for details.

 

6. Puzzle Pieces is an autism and special needs retail store in Montgomery. Their goal is to make life easier for those with special needs. If you are looking for volunteer hours, they need help at their event this coming Sunday! 7. Homecoming tickets will be on sale during lunch and Warrior bell next week Tuesday through Friday. Tickets are $15 each.  You cannot attend without purchasing a ticket! If you are bringing a guest from another school, be sure to get the guest form filled out and back to Mr. Block by Friday, 9/24. 

 

8. Show your school spirit next week by wearing outfits for the Homecoming festivities:

Monday - Pajama Day

Tuesday - Class Decade Day: freshmen - 80’s, sophomores - 50’s, juniors - 70’s, seniors - 60’s

Wednesday - Country vs Country Club Day

Thursday - Blue and Gold Day

Friday - Class T-shirt Day

 

9. Auditions for the MHS pop a cappella group, Showstoppers, are going on now. Please scan the QR code in the HUB for more information and audition materials. Video auditions are due to Mrs. McGahey by Monday, September 27th.
