High School Orchestra Receives Group, Solo Honors

The Mariemont High School orchestra competed in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 14 Solo and Ensemble event this month, earning several Excellent and Superior ratings.

MHS competed in a total of 15 events, led by the Chamber Orchestra group which received a superior rating for Class A Ensemble piece.

Individually, freshman Nora O’Donnell received a superior rating for both a string bass solo and a harp solo, freshman Dianna Hester received a superior rating for a cello solo, sophomore Anastasia Szymkowiak received a superior rating for a piano solo and sophomore Grace Erickson received a superior rating for a cello solo.
