Giving my Thanks

While gratitude is something I try to practice all year long, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because it forces me to reflect on all I have to be thankful for.

And there is certainly a lot to be thankful for in the Mariemont City Schools.

I am thankful for the incredible staff that I get the pleasure of working with on a daily basis. Coming to work every day is never “work” because of who I get to share this experience with. Thank you for your dedication to our students -- for loving them, challenging them and helping them grow. Thank you for your willingness to teach and lead in daring and innovative ways.  Working in education is never easy but know that your commitment and passion is greatly appreciated. You are the reason this is such a special school district!

I am thankful for the students who continue to make me proud each and every day. You are scholars, artists, athletes, performers, engineers, writers, mathematicians and so much more! You are respectful to your schools, your teachers and your community. You are learners, always seeking new and exciting solutions to problems. Thank you for always giving your best and for representing Mariemont City Schools in all that you do.

To the parents and families, thank you for trusting us to educate your children. Thank you for your participation and your volunteer hours. Thank you for joining the PTO, the Arts Association, the Boosters and Kiwanis. Thank you for driving your children to practice, rehearsal, science fairs and all of their activities. We are happy to work with you through the important years of your student’s childhood, adolescence and beyond. The partnership of educating students at school and at home is what truly makes a district great.

And lastly, I am thankful to our incredible community for believing in our work and standing by our schools. Thank you for understanding our goals and for keeping us accountable to them. It is my hope that we make you proud each and every day.

I would like to wish all of you and your families a happy, healthy and relaxing Thanksgiving! May you also take some time to recognize what you are thankful for and share your gratitude with those you love this holiday season!
