March 9 Letter to Families

The Mariemont City School District continues to monitor the spread of the Coronavirus and the potential impact on students, families and staff in our schools and community.

Now that there are confirmed cases in the state of Ohio, we recognize that there is heightened awareness and concern and we will continue to monitor all communication coming from the Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Center for Disease Control (CDC) and Hamilton County Public Health Department (HCPH). Currently there remain no identified cases in Hamilton County, the city of Cincinnati or our community, but we know this can obviously change very quickly.

In an abundance of caution, we have increased our prevention measures throughout the district to stop the spread of germs. We have ensured that all classrooms and gathering spaces within our schools are stocked with disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer. We are reviewing proper hand-washing techniques with all students and will continue to stress the importance of proper personal hygiene.  Additionally, our custodial staff is prioritizing cleaning in common and high traffic areas like bathrooms, the cafeteria, common spaces, door handles, etc.

As is often the case with matters receiving so much local and national media attention, rumors are common. Mariemont City Schools has established this Coronavirus webpage as an effective way to relay accurate and timely information from local health departments, the CDC and our school district as it relates to this issue. This web page will be the best place to go for up to date, factual information that may impact your child or anyone else in our school district.

As this situation evolves, we will continue to communicate via email should the need arise. Otherwise, please continue to check this webpage.

Thank you for your support and understanding during this time of rapidly changing information and circumstances.
