Welcome Back!
Last week we began another chapter in the Mariemont City Schools story! And for me, this chapter is highly anticipated.
This new school year, just like all the years prior and all the years to come, is filled with endless possibilities. At the beginning of the year, we have so many dreams about what we will learn, experience and accomplish in the year to come. We have visions of passing tests in the classroom and scoring goals on the soccer field. We see successful music concerts and Warriors BEyond fun. And the greatest part of the beginning of the year is that all of these dreams are possible.
The school year ahead, while unknown, is full of so much potential. And we are in the driver’s seat. We have the ability to make all of these dreams come true with a little hard work and dedication. How we set ourselves up for the year will usually determine how we execute it.
It’s no secret that I am a diehard Journey fan. They have been one of my favorite bands for a long time and their music is some of my favorite to listen to. They have a song, I believe you probably know it well, that accurately describes my thoughts at the beginning of each school year. Don’t Stop Believing.
Always go into a school year with big dreams. Believe in yourself and what you can achieve, and then work to make those dreams a reality. This school year is a blank slate for us all, and I cannot wait to see what we can dream up together.
And then, once we have established our dreams, remember hold onto that feeling. Sometimes the year might get rocky, or our dreams might seem a bit out of reach. But don’t forget that ‘beginning of the school year’ feeling when anything is possible. Because that’s when we can learn, experience and accomplish the most!
