ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Wednesday, September 15, 2021

 

1. The following college will visit today

            7th bell – Saginaw Valley State University

2. The faculty and staff of Mariemont High School are pleased to announce that Andrew Chen and Alexandra Purdy have been named National Merit Semifinalists by the College Board. Andrew and Alexandra both scored in the top one-half of one percent of the nearly 1.6 million students who took the PSAT last fall. These students, as well as their families and teachers, are to be congratulated for this exemplary achievement. All of us in the Mariemont School Community are very proud of their outstanding accomplishment and wish them the best of luck as they complete their senior year at MHS.

 

3. The Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati will be hosting a Careers in Construction Event at Homerama on Sunday, September 26th from 9-11am.  Talk directly with professionals and learn how you can become employed in the construction field or gain education and work experience to be ready for jobs in the industry. 

 

4. Clermont County Counseling Association and UC Clermont will be hosting a College Fair tomorrow night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Eastgate Mall. Representatives from over 75 colleges will be available to meet with.

 

5. Attention Key Club members -- remember to pay your dues ($13) to Mrs. MacLeod by this Friday, September 17th.

 

6. 1N5's Youth Mental Health Innovation Challenge (YMHIC) is scheduled for November 13 & 14.  This is a virtual, two-day workshop where students from across the city & the country come together and brainstorm solutions to various mental health challenge prompts. Students then pitch their ideas to the 1N5 staff. See the counseling page on Schoology for details.

7. Show your school spirit by wearing outfits for the Homecoming festivities:

Monday - Pajama Day

Tuesday - Class Decade Day: freshmen - 80’s, sophomores - 50’s, juniors - 70’s,             seniors - 60’s

Wednesday - Country vs Country Club Day

Thursday- Blue and Gold Day

Friday - Class T-shirt Day

 

8. Homecoming tickets will be on sale during lunch and Warrior bell starting Tuesday, September 21st through Friday, September 24th. Tickets are $15 each.  You cannot attend without purchasing a ticket! If you are bringing a guest from another school, be sure to get the guest form filed out and back to Mr. Block by Friday, the 24th. 

 

9. The first round of voting for Homecoming Court will be Thursday, September 16th during Warrior bell.  Voting will end at 4:00 that day. 

 

10. The Spanish Club will be meeting today in room 12 during lunch.  We will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month for our first meeting!
