Stephen O'Hara competition winner
Mariemont High School senior Stephen O’Hara was recently announced as one of two winners of the High School Theatrical Design Competition hosted by Northern Kentucky University School of the Arts Theatre and Dance Program. The competition, the first of it’s kind for NKU, was open to all Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana high school seniors who designed a theatrical production between 2020 and 2022.

As a winner, O’Hara was a awarded a scholarship to Northern Kentucky University, should he choose to attend. Additionally, his work was on display on the NKU website as well as in person at the NKU Fine Arts Center atrium gallery for two weeks in February.

Each entry into the competition was designed for high school theater productions or community theater and staged between 2020 and 2022. The designed were fully created by the student and represented a single aspect (scenic, lighting, costumes, make-up/wigs, sound, prop or projections) of a single production.

O’Hara’s submitted production was from Mariemont High School’s staging of Little Women in the spring of 2022. Congratulations to Stephen!
