Mariemont High School Announces Nick Leone as Head Football Coach
Nick Leone headshotMariemont High School athletic director Tom Nerl has announced that Nick Leone will be named the next head football coach of Mariemont High School.

Leone, has extensive experience with the Mariemont team, having served as an assistant coach under Kurry Commins for the last three seasons. Prior to becoming a Warrior, he was the head coach at Nagel Junior High School and assistant coach/offensive coordinator at Turpin High School.

“Coach Leone has proven himself to be a good coach and leader in his three years with our program” said Nerl. “His personable and positive approach to coaching our athletes and his dedication to the program during the season and outside of the season made him a really good choice to lead our program. Nick has a great vision for the future of our program, building on the relationships of coaches and players with the community, the junior high athletes and youth football program.”

During his three seasons with the Warriors, Leone spent time as the offensive coordinator, the offensive line coach and the run game coordinator. Under his tutelage, the Mariemont football team had its first 1,000-yard rusher since 2013 (2017), led the league in passing by 500 yards (2018), had the No. 1 receiver in the city (2018) and had the CHL leader in rushing touchdowns as well as the third-leading passer (2019).

While acting as the head coach at Nagel Junior High School, the program recorded a 7-1 record and won the championship game in 2015 after going winless in its previous two seasons.

Leone will assume his role as head football coach at Mariemont High School immediately.
