April 30 Update (2:30 p.m.)

Mariemont City Schools Community,

Believe it or not, the end of the 2019-2020 school year is right around the corner. Thank you for your continued partnership as we teach and learn in a very different way right now. I want to briefly address the academic plan for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. The last day of school for students in grades K-11 remains Friday, June 5.

Students (grades k-11) and staff will continue participating in the Remote Learning Program academic schedule, activities and assignments as they are now through Friday, May 22. Then, on Tuesday, May 26, following our Memorial Day break, we will transition for the final two weeks of the year. Students in grades K-8 will participate in “Mission BEyond” – a new branch of the Warriors BEyond program – a two-week experiential learning experience. Mission BEyond will give students hands-on, interest-based virtual learning experiences to choose from to close out the school year in a fun and engaging way.

Students in grades 9-11 will also spend the final two weeks with a different schedule – taking optional final exams and participating in helpful activities and seminars on a variety of topics to prepare them for their future.

Look for more information and details about all of this in the coming days and weeks. We are also finalizing plans for end-of-the-year activities and celebrations and will be communicating those details soon as well.

The district will be returning student artwork and any personal items left in lockers or classrooms to students and families over the next few weeks. Additionally, you will be receiving more information soon about returning district-issued iPads and devices along with any textbooks or school materials. Students in grades K-11 will return these items during the week of June 8.

As always, we appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work through these details. We will communicate with you once plans are finalized. Be sure to continue checking the Coronavirus Updates webpage of the district website for the latest information.
