March 13 Letter (2:40 p.m.)
Mariemont City Schools Families,

I want to thank you all for your flexibility and patience as we work through this unprecedented time.   Please know we are working around the clock to keep you updated with the most recent, factual information.

I want to reiterate our extended closure schedule:
• The first five days of the closure (March 16 – March 20) will be treated like any other calamity day (snow days) and no school work will be provided.
• Spring break will be observed as usual from Monday, March 23 – Friday, March 27.
• Students will be expected to begin participating in the Home Learning Program on Monday, March 30.

It is important for us to keep continuity of all services and we are currently mobilizing plans for the continuation of student mental health, counseling and food services for those who need them. If any family has specific questions or needs in these areas, please contact Director of Student Services Tricia Buchert at [email protected].

I want to remind you that, along with this closure, all school activities, athletics, clubs, etc. are cancelled until March 29 at which point we will reevaluate the situation.

Other events cancelled at this time include:
• Saturday, March 14 – FAB Affair
• Monday, March 16 – Harlan Cohen Speaker
• Monday, March 16 – Boosters Meeting
• Thursday, March 19 – Kindergarten Registration (at both Mariemont Elementary and Terrace Park Elementary schools)
• Friday, March 20 – Mariemont Junior High School Day of Service

We are monitoring communication being provided from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and the Hamilton County Public Health Department (HCPH). We will continue to follow the guidance of public health experts and government officials to determine if any activities and athletics will be able to resume on March 30.

One change the district has implemented already is the third quarter grading period. The end of the third quarter has been pushed back to Thursday, April 9, with report cards available online on Friday, April 17.

We understand that parents and guardians may have other questions regarding this extended closure and the Home Learning Program. The best place to receive up to date and factual information is the Coronavirus Updates webpage on the district website. We will be updating this page by the minute if necessary to answer your questions and relay the latest information, so please make a habit of checking this page often.

Should you have further questions, there are two ways for you to send those to us:
1. Send an email to [email protected]
2. Submit your question through the Coronavirus Updates webpage

Please do not leave questions in the comments section of social media posts as we will not be able to answer at this time.

As always, the safety and health of you, your children and our staff are our top priority. I again thank you for your cooperation as we navigate this time together.
