Announcements -- Thursday, January 13, 2022

1. Did you sign up for College Explorations for Intersession? Tonight is your final opportunity to have a parent/guardian attend the mandatory parent meetings. The final two opportunities for a parent/guardian to attend are TONIGHT @ 6:30 Pm in the HUB and at 7:30 PM via Zoom. Each student and parent should have received the link by email. If you have not received the link, please email Mr. Sugerman. A parent guardian must attend one of the meetings or you will not be able to participate in College Explorations for Intersession. If a parent has not attended any of the meetings following this evening, you will be emailed and placed in an alternative Intersession.

2. Planning on attending the Snowball dance on January 22nd?  Tickets will be on sale Wednesday, January 12th through Wednesday, January 18th.   You can find the link to buy tickets on your class Schoology page.  Tickets are $15. The dance will be in the gym and starts at 9:00 pm. You will receive your tickets on Thursday, the 19th during Warrior bell and you will need to bring them with you to the dance.

If you plan on bringing a guest, please pick up a guest form from the office and return it to Mr. Block.  You cannot bring a guest without filling out a guest form. See Mrs. Stinnett with any questions!

3. Attention Junior Boys:

Are you interested in applying for Buckeye Boys State?

At Boys State, young men learn about city, county, and state government through a non-partisan objective education approach. This American Legion Buckeye Boys State is an eight-day hands-on experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Ohio government.

It will occur June 12 - 19, 2022 at Miami University

Email Mrs. Tackett if interested in applying.

4. Attention Sophomores! If you are interested in checking out Live Oaks, a field trip is scheduled for the morning of January 21. Permission forms for the trip are in the counseling area and need to be returned to the counselors by January 13th. Please email Mrs. Tackett with any questions.

5. Did you know that pharmacists work in many different settings such as hospitals, research labs, and pharmacies?  And did you know that pharmacists contribute to the research and testing of new drugs?   If you are interested in learning more about this career, then join us at our next Career Chat on January 18 during Warrior bell in room 26. I’m excited that we will be featuring a current pharmacist as well as the Assistant Director of Admissions in the UC College of Pharmacy.

6. Cincinnati Nature Center will be having their first volunteer opportunity of the year this Sunday from 10:30 - 12:00.  Enjoy some cold weather hiking and practice some data taking techniques while determining the age and health of maple trees around the woods. See the job/volunteer opportunity course in the Counseling area of Schoology for additional information on these opportunities.
