ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Monday, September 26, 2022

1. Award winning writer and actor and 1990 graduate of MHS will the guest speaker for Creative Writing Club TODAY. Our meeting with Brandon T. Snider will be held in Mr. Wiseman’s room (162) during lunch time. Please join us if you’re interested in writing or acting to meet with and gain wisdom from Brandon T. Snyder. See Ellis Christ, Charlotte Hagen, or Mr. Wiseman if you have questions.

 

2. Homecoming week is underway, don’t forget to wear your PJs tomorrow. Here are the themes for the rest of the week.

 

  • Wednesday - Celebrity/Character Day

  • Thursday - Blue and Gold

  • Friday - Class T-shirt Day

 

3. The first round of Homecoming court voting will begin today.  You will find the link on your Schoology class page to vote for this year’s homecoming nominees. 

 

4. Join us for the Homecoming parade on September 30th before the big game!  The parade begins at 5:30 pm. Stay after for the game to watch the Warriors take on Deer Park at 7:00 pm!  The winners of Homecoming Court and class floats will be announced at halftime.  

 

5. Tickets for Homecoming are on sale now.  You can buy your ticket online by following the link on the Schoology Class page.  You will receive a paper ticket on Friday which you will need to bring with you to the dance.  The last day to buy your ticket is Thursday at 3:30 pm.  Tickets are $20.  Don't forget to turn your guest form in to Mr. Block if you are bringing a guest from another school.  

 

6. The dance will begin at 9:00 pm on Saturday, October 1st and ends at 11 pm.  You must arrive by 9:30 pm or a parent/guardian will be called.  Appropriate behavior is expected, please follow the Student code of conduct while at the parade, during the game and at the dance.  Have fun and show off your dance moves! 

7. SOPHOMORES! See you at the float building today! Please refer to your email from Mrs. Ammerman or see any of your Class Officers for more information!! 

8. Do you love acting? Have you enjoyed performing in the musical or play? Love working behind the scenes to make the show great? Or, do you just enjoy watching theater? Then the International Thespian Society might be for you! Anyone interested in joining the International Thespian Society should come to an informational meeting Tuesday Sept. 27th during Advisory in the Auditorium. Can't make it, but still interested? Please see Tierney Rasmussen, Ellie Haynes or Mrs. Lowery" 


9.The Mariemont World Affairs Club participates in Model United Nations competitions and discusses global events. The Club meets monthly and will host guest speakers and attend other Cincinnati-area events focused on international affairs. We will have a kick-off meeting on Tuesday at 8am in Mr. Wolfford's room, that's Room 42.  Come hear about World Affairs Club and consider joining.  

 

10. Next week will be busy again in the CCPC. On Monday, Tulane University will be here 1st Bell, University of Akron during 3rd bell, Wright State University 5th bell and Colgate University 7th Bell. On Tuesday, we will host Cincinnati State during 2nd bell and Vanderbilt University bell 6.


11. Congratulation to the Girls Tennis Team. Friday afternoon they traveled north and beat Alter, the #7 ranked team in the state. The match was part of the State Team Tournament and with the win the girls are now in the Final 8 of the State Tournament. The Elite 8 match will be against the winner of the match between Indian Hill and CHCA. The Tennis team now has a season record of 21 wins and just 1 loss. The Girls next match will be home against Oak Hills on Tuesday.
