ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Friday, September 3, 2021

1. There are still PE flex students who have not shared a calendar with Mrs. Thomas.  Please do so asap by reading directions provided in Schoology, and begin logging activities on that calendar.  Weekly grades will be posted by Fridays in Schoology.

2. Anyone interested in auditioning for this year's Cappies team should see or email Mrs. Lowery to get audition materials. Audition essays are due by Thurs., Sept. 9. Please see Mrs. Lowery-Harris or Alexandra Purdy with questions. There will also be an informational meeting Wed., Sept. 8th at lunch.

3. Colleges will begin visiting us on Tuesday, Sept. 7. If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior, and see a college visiting that you are interested in, then please consider attending. You can see a list of the visits in your Scoir account, on the screen in the hub, and on the daily announcements. Remember that you do need to get your teacher’s permission before attending and all visits are in the CCPC. This is a great way for students to demonstrate their interest in a college!

Next week’s visits include:
  1. Tuesday, Sept. 7: Denison University - 2nd bell, DePauw University - 4th bell
  2. Wednesday, Sept. 8: Carnegie Mellon University - 3rd bell
  3. Thursday, Sept. 9: Miami University, Hamilton Campus - 4th bell

If you have any questions, see Mrs. Leszczuk.

6. Mandarin Club - If you are interested in joining the Mandarin Club, there will be an interest meeting today during lunch in room 156. You do not have to be in Mandarin class to join. Hope to see you there!

7. Several political campaigns are seeking students for internships, fellowships or volunteer opportunities.  This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in building a resume or learning more about political, communication, data, and digital strategies.  Fliers or emails from these campaigns can be found on the Job Board in the CCPC/Counseling area.

8. Did you know that the counseling department has job and internship opportunities available?  See the bulletin board in the counseling department or your counseling course on Schoology.

9. If you are interested in joining Leadership Council to help the lives of our community, please speak to Mr. Cummins about applying. You can also talk to one of the Leadership Council officers: Ethan Dill, Braylin Ludwig, Lilly Sharp, or Ryder Osgood to get your application. All applications are due by September 14th.

10. There will be a meeting for freshman class officers on Tuesday, 9/7 during advisory. Please report to your advisory teacher for attendance, then report to Mrs. Leatherwood's room, #43.
