Course Objective: Students will explore intermediate to advanced software applications and produce products utilizing planning, design and publishing/implementation techniques.
Course Overview: Digital Arts will provide students with technological skills that will be needed in order to stay ahead in the face of a rapidly changing world. Students will work through standards-based modules (or lessons), typically covering a one week period, after which point a test will be given. The test work will be supplemented with hands-on projects that will allow for the students to demonstrate a mastery of the material covered in the modules.
Some modules will be taught in the “lock-step” format, which means that everyone in the class will work on the same project. Other lessons will be taught in the “rotational” format, meaning that some students will work on one lesson, then rotate to the next station upon completion of that lesson.
Course Grade:
· Classwork will include Software Lessons, application assignments, and worksheets.
· Projects will allow student creativity and critical thinking when providing solutions to problems.
· Tests will allow the student to demonstrate learned abilities and will be given at the end of each lesson sequence.
Most in-class assignments will be worth 25-50 points. The point amount typically relates to time spent on specific assigments. You can go to the assignment lists at the top of the page for more information.
Classroom grades will be updated weekly on Progressbook.
