Assignment Fri. Oct. 3, 2008

Today we will look at the home pages of political parties.  On a clean sheet of notebook paper, answer all questions from each number below.  Hand it in at the end of class.

1. Check out political parties' Web pages (from Links top right).  A lot can be gleaned just by spending time browsing homepages for Republicans and Democrats.  How do the major parties compare?  What is the tone and message sent from each site?  What do the parties look like locally in Hamilton County?  Who are the local chairmen and what are their backgrouds?  Write down one question that you might ask them when they visit MHS.  What information do the local GOP and Dems present on their Web pages?

What about the minor parties?  How do they differ from the major ones?

2. We shall look closely at 3 races today. The presidential, Ohio 2nd congressional, and the Ohio state House race for district 34.  Click below and follow the instructions, etc.
