Mrs. Obradovich worked at the
20th General Hospital
at Ledo Assam in India during World War II.
She was sent to Camp McCoy to take care of Japanese prisoners. Her
third training assignment was to the Mayo Clinic where she trained in
surgical procedures and care. She was sent overseas and, for awhile,
worked in a mobile unit in Casablanca and other places. She was then
sent to the 20th General Hospital, a contingent of the University of
Pennsylvania Medical School bordering on Burma and Nepal. The
hospital was equipped for 1500 patients and treated the Allied forces of
America, France, and China. She was awarded the Meritorious Unit
Citation. She achieved the rank of 1st Lieutenant. |
