Mr. Lock served in both World War II and the Korean War.
He was in the
360th
Engineering Regiment. He went to basic training at Camp Bartley,
Texas and was assigned to Army Clerk School. He was later sent to
Camp Shanks, New York. After his training, he was transported on the
"Mauritania" to Liverpool, England. The ship was a luxury liner then
and was extremely crowded. He was assigned to the Army band.
He also was involved in sorting maps for the
Normandy invasion. He
received the rank of T/5/Sergeant. |
