Mr. Jacob served with the 173rd QM Battalion in the
CBI Theater during World War II. He achieved the rank of Captain. He
attended Officer Candidate School and came out as a second Lieutenant in the
478 Quartermaster Battalion. In 1943, he was sent on the Navy transport ship, "USS
Hermitage" to the CBI Theater. From Calcutta, he was transported by
rail to
Ledo.
He operated at the airfields and was responsible for the supply lines of food, gasoline,
and oil. He achieved the rank of Captain. |
