| Mr. DiLonardo was drafted in November, 1951 into the Army. He was in G Company, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division. He was sent to Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania for basic training and then to Korea. He first went to Sasebo, Japan and then to Koji Island to help with the prisoners there. He fought battles at Old Baldy, Pork Chop Hill, T-Bone, Chorwan Valley, and the Iron Triangle. Mr. DiLonardo received the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, UN Service Medal with 2 Battle Stars, and the Army good Conduct Medal. He achieved the rank of Sergeant. |
