| Mr. Bromberg was born in Hamburg, Germany and came to the United States when he was 19 years old. He volunteered in the Army in 1942 and was sent to basic training in the 94th Infantry at Camp Phillips, Kansas. He was transferred to the 28th Infantry Division, the Keystone Division and sent to Normandy 3 weeks after the invasion. He was assigned to be a prisoner of war interrogater. He achieved the rank of Second Lieutenant. Mr. Bromberg received a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart, 5 Battle Stars, good Conduct Medal, European Victory Medal, and Expert Rifle Medal. |
