Mr. Griffin is one of the original Halsey-Doolittle Raiders. He was a navigator on plane #9 off the Carrier Hornet on April 18, 1942. Later in the war on a raid on Sicily, he was shot down and captured by the Germans. He spent the rest of the war in a German prisoner of war camp. |
