PTO Meeting Minutes
October 10, 2006
I. Call to Order and Welcome (7:08
p.m.) Sally Gaburo
The meeting was called to order with approximately 30 in
attendance.
II. New Business – Spanish
Program Stacy
McClorey
Stacy has researched an in-house
before/after school Spanish language program through Cincinnati
Spanish Academy. Her proposal will be presented to the
Purchasing Committee who will vote on it in the November
meeting.
If passed, the program would be comprised
of a 10-week session (January through April). Each class would
meet 1x per week for 45 minutes. Classes would consist of 8-10
students and will be offered to grades K, 1, 2, grades 3 &4 and
grades 5 & 6. The number of classes offered will vary according
to interest among the grades. This program is to be rolled out
in a small scale. If there is sufficient interest among TPE
families, this 10-week session would help gauge the feasibility
of offering this program long-term.
By going through the PTO the Cinci Spanish
Academy will offer a significantly discounted rate. The PTO
would underwrite a portion of the fee in order to get this rate.
