Terrace Park Elementary PTO Meeting
Tuesday, May 8, 2007
I. Call to
order Sally

The meeting was called
to order at 9:35 am with approximately 25 in attendance.
II. Approval of Minutes

The April 2007 PTO
meeting minutes were unanimously approved.
III. ERB and WrAP
Presentations Dr.
Jim Renner
Mrs.
Ann Arbogast
Dr. Renner, the
Mariemont High School Principal and Mrs. Arborgast, the MHS
guidance counselor and testing coordinator gave an overview of
the two tests: their history, how and when they are administered
and how the results are used to gauge students’ strengths and
weaknesses and to plan interventions for those students who need
them.
IV. Teacher’s Representative Report Mr. Fleckenstein
Mr. Fleckenstein
expressed his thanks to the TP parents who work as a team with
the TPE faculty and staff as well as make them feel a welcome
part of the community.

Linda also reported on two subjects not noted in her handout.
1. Although the 5th and 6th grades will
move from Fairfax Elementary to Mariemont Elementary for the
07-08 school year, the proposed shift of students in the special
needs program from ME to TPE will not happen this upcoming year.
It may happen in subsequent years.
2. Ohio Achievement tests were taken last week. The results will
be mailed to students’ homes around June 15th.
V. New
Business

A. Becca Worple suggested that
Spanish be offered at least 2x each week next year
B. The PTO
board for the 2007-2008 school year was introduced:
President

C. Central
Committee
1. The TP PTO
donated $250 to the high school’s after prom as it has in years
past.
2. ME will hold their annual fund raiser on Saturday, May 19th,
11-3.
D. Art Show/
Open House will be May 22nd – there are enough
volunteers at this point.
E. Memorial
Day Bake Sale – will take place this year, but is not a PTO
event. The Girl Scouts will run the sale.
F. Teacher
Appreciation Week went very well. The theme was Hot and
Cool. Teachers were treated to a luncheon at Lou Ann Mauk’s
house, coffee mugs and lunchboxes.
VIII. Old BusinessA. PTO Committee
Chairs

Only three
positions are open for next year: Pumpkin Fest Chair, Mini
School, and Market Day.
B. Flying Pig
Carolyn Frey wanted to thank all who made last Friday’s
event a success.

Kroger Cards – please keep using them over the
summer
