PTO Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2007
I. Call to Order and Welcome (12:32
p.m.) Sally Gaburo
The meeting was called to order with approximately 41 in
attendance. Lunches from Bridge Café were served.
Sign up sheets were passed around to
solicit volunteers for Vision and Hearing Screening, Recognition
Night, and Everybody Counts.
II.
Minutes
Barclay Schraff
A motion was made and accepted to approve the minutes of the
November 2006 PTO meeting.
III. Treasurer’s
Report
Cindy Brittingham
Some items from the Purchasing Committee wish list have
already been purchased. A few have not, hence the balance of
$67,882.

IV. Teachers’ Representative
Ann Muennich
Mrs. Muennich thanked the PTO for the many new items
requested by the teachers from the Purchasing Committee. She
also thanked the PTO for the wonderful holiday luncheon.
V. Guest Speaker
Lance Hollander Lance Hollander, the principal of Fairfax
Elementary, spoke to the PTO about a popular parenting program
called Love and Logic. (Handout attached)
VI. Committee
Report
1. Everybody
Counts Sybil
Schooler
This program will take place January 31 and February 1.
Volunteers are needed.
2. Giving Tree/ Gifts from the
Heart Sally
Gaburo
Sally Vianello and Missy Osgood chaired this project that
raised over $2000 for 12 families that included 28 children.
Each child received three items. Families were also given movie
and Kroger gift cards. Stuff a Stocking was part of this effort.
3. Mini
School
Barclay Schraff
Mini School will run from January 17 through February 7.
There are approximately 140 students enrolled in 12 classes.
4. Spanish

Classes begin January 23.
