Terrace Park Elementary students and families did their part to better our planet by celebrating Earth Week. The students worked with buddies to beautify the school's campus with flowers, played games to learn the roles of Mother Earth and followed a representative from the Cincinnati Nature Center as she guided them on an interactive demonstration to better understand how trees gain their nutrients.
"We are going to make a mural with the paper hands that say what we will do for the earth,” said fifth grader Laney Riportella. "It's such a fun day and such a fun way to learn about our planet and what we can do to make changes."
Terrace Park students got a first-hand glimpse of how they can all help the world, creating goals to better the planet on colorful paper. After the exciting afternoon, students were treated to a Kona Ice surprise. This celebration not only brought Terrace Park students a deeper understanding of the Earth, but also taught them the power of personal impact to creating a better tomorrow.
