Curriculum Committee

Superintendent's Student Advisory Group

In addition to talking with the adults in our school community, it is important to create an opportunity to hear the voices of the students of Mariemont City Schools. The young people we serve every day have a lot to say about the experiences and environments that we create for them in our school system.

Each year, staff members help to identify students in grades 9-12 to serve on the Superintendent's Student Advisory Group, and these students meet with Superintendent Steven Estepp and Director of Teaching and Learning Shannon Kromer to hold candid conversations about the courses the district offers, the technology the district makes available and the instructional strategies the district uses.

"These students offer important clues and ideas for us to consider and discuss as we make critical decisions that will impact their experiences in our school district today, tomorrow and well into the future. They are not only scholars today, but also leaders, as they allow me a glimpse into their realities, struggles and hopes. These students help guide the instructional vision for our school district." - Steven Estepp, Superintendent

"Being a member of the student curriculum committee made me feel directly connected to our education system and gave me a big confidence boost since I was chosen to be a part of it. The committee was a really fun experience and the meetings were something I greatly looked forward to, and I would absolutely love to continue it! Thank you so so much!" - Lindsay, 2013-14 member
