What
is the LRC?
The
Learning Resource Center is Mariemont Junior High
School's Resource Room.
It has been designed to help students who need extra support in all
academic areas.
What classes are
taught in the LRC?
There are presently three academic classes taught in the
LRC. There is a 7th
grade Language Arts class, and
an 8th grade
Language Arts Support class.
These classes are very
individualized in order to meet the needs of each
student at his or her own
level
of achievement.
There are
also two tutoring bells, and an organization bell
worked into the LRC schedule. These serve to
provide students
with instruction and support in study skills,
as well as the language arts, math, science, and
social studies curriculum.
What do you learn in the LRC?
Both of
the academic classes consist of the same curriculum as the
College
Prep. levels of language arts. However,
in the LRC
classes, we use each student's IEP as part of their
individual curriculum as well. We work to meet
individual goals
throughout the year. Again,
we review the concepts taught in
the regular language arts, math, science, and social
studies
curriculum
as well.
