Mariemont Preservation Foundation
MISSION STATEMENT & GOALS

1. To foster within the community an appreciation for the unique qualities of the Village

  • Support development of in-school and docent-guided educational programs.

  • Support realization of the goals of the "75th Anniversary Commemorative & Renewal project".

2.  To assure the continuity of the principles of town planning that made the community a National Exemplar and earned it a place on the National Register of Historic Places.

  • Pursue National Landmark designation for Mariemont.

  • Support efforts to protect Wooster Pike from modification and to encourage rerouting of US 50 traffic.

  • Build the MPF Endowment Fund to $250,000.

3.  To collect and preserve historic archives and protect historic properties.

  • Work for acquisition of the Ferris House.

  • Work for reclamation of the Bennett house.

  • Work for rehabilitation of the Resthaven Barn and establishment of a maintenance facility on the Westover property.

4.  To perpetuate the dream of Mariemont’s founder Mary Emery, as a special place for family life.

  • Promote the maintenance/restoration of all historic properties through legislation and enforcement.

5. To advance appreciation for our significant archaeological period.

  • Secure Madisonville Site artifacts and chronicles from private and institutional collections.
