A pair of Mariemont High School seniors signed letters of intent to continue their athletics careers at the collegiate level. Cora Dupre committed to swim at Indianan University while Kate Overbey will swim at Johns Hopkins University.
Dupre is a three-time state champion, earning wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle in 2018 as well as the 200 freestyle in 2017. She owns a handful of school records and Southwest Ohio Classic records while also holding district records in the 50 and 100 freestyle which she set earlier this year. She is a two-time Cincinnati Hills League (CHL) Swimmer of the Year and the 2017 Cincinnati Enquirer Swimmer of the Year while also earning First Team All-City honors in both 2017 and 2018. Additionally, Dupre was named Scholastic All-America and NISCA All-America in 2017 and 2018.
Overbey will join Johns Hopkins University after a decorated youth and high school swimming career. She is a former YMCA national champion in the 200 breaststroke. She earned two fourth place finishes at the 2018 state championship meet in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events and was the 2018 district runner up in the 100 breaststroke. Like Dupre, Overbey earned Scholastic All-America and NISCA All-America honors in 2017 and 2018 and is a two-time First Team All-City recipient (2017 and 2018).
