Two Mariemont High School seniors recently signed letters of intent to participate in athletics at the collegiate level. Carson Fields signed with Butler University for track and Ryan Fields signed with Ashland University for football and track.
And, yes, they are siblings. Twins, in fact.
Ryan played football and ran track for Mariemont High School, and Carson played soccer and basketball and also ran track. Both attended school in the Mariemont City School District since kindergarten.
"My favorite thing about participating in sports at Mariemont is how much the experience has taught me about life, not just athletics," said Carson. "I've been on JV sports teams as well as varsity teams; I've been a starter and I've played some bench; I've been a captain and have been the freshman on the team who didn't say a word. All of these different 'roles' have helped me learn what it means to be part of a team and how to act as a young person."
Carson plans on majoring in psychology at Butler University. Ryan plans on majoring in education at Ashland University and says he would like to become a history teacher.
