Birthday Celebrations

Every kindergartner enjoys celebrating their birthday at school.  Your child may celebrate their birthday on the exact day, on the school day nearest their birthday, or on their half-birthday.  We are also more than happy to celebrate summer birthdays during the month of May.

Mariemont Elementary is a peanut-free school due to many peanut allergies.  The Mariemont Board of Education has adopted a NO PEANUT policy.  This means no food which includes peanuts or peanut oil  may be served.  We also cannot have anything with M&M's because these are assembled on conveyor belts where peanuts may or may not be present.  Please make sure you check all ingredient labels before bringing a snack to school.  Thank you for your help in this area.

Your child may choose to bring any type of snack to school on their birthday.  You may also provide a drink if you wish.  We always have milk as an alternative.  Feel free to be creative or use a tried a true snack.  Some examples of birthday treats we have served include:

brownies
cake
cookies
cupcakes
"dirt" pudding cups
doughnuts
ice cream sundae cups
popsicles

Feel free to drop off your child's birthday snack at the beginning of the school day.  We usually sing "Happy Birthday" first thing in the morning, then we have the snack later in our day.
