Mrs. Elise Zito

Hi! My name is Elise Zito. I was born, raised and educated in Pennsylvania. I graduated from high school at the American School Foundation in Mexico City. My father's job took us there for two years. I graduated from Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA and I have a masters as a reading specialist from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. Before moving to Cincinnati, I taught Kindergarten, first and second grades at Easton Area School District in Easton, PA for 14 years. My family and I moved here in 1995. I am married to Dan and we have three grown children. Gregg, an Ohio State graduate, who works and lives in Sarasota, FLA, Dana and Matt, both Indiana University graduates, and both live and work in Chicago, IL. We also have a black cocker spaniel named "Bella". She is our "baby" and we love to spoil her.

This is my 10th year at the Mariemont City School District. My first assignment was teaching reading at Terrace Park Elementary. Here at Mariemont, I have taught Kindergarten, third grade and first grade. I love teaching first grade because there is so much learning that takes place and the students are so eager and excited to learn. The measurable growth is enormous!!

Some of my favorite things to do are cook, bake, travel, exercise, listen to music and read biographies. I love learning about people!!

I'm excited about our new year together. I know that we are going to become a wonderful "school family" and share many experiences, along with a whole lot of learning!!
