| Welcome to fourth grade social
studies! This year you will learn about the different states and
regions of
the United States, the state of Ohio, and Cincinnati's history. Throughout the year we will use many different
sources including the textbook States and Regions by Harcourt
Brace. We will also use The Ohio Adventure by Gibbs-Smith
Publishers. As well as Cincinnati: An Urban
History Sourcebook published by the Cincinnati Historical
Society.
Our goal is to enable students to become informed, responsible, active citizens of the United States and knowledgeable, respectful members of the world community. Students will also gain an understanding of how geography, history, economics, and culture have shaped and will continue to shape the lives of Americans.
