Louise Borden
Fourth grade students walked to the Mariemont Public Library to hear local author Louise Borden speak about her new book, The Journey that Saved Curious George.
Students learned how Mrs. Borden used primary resources like pocket diaries, photographs, train stubs and letters to research Hans and Margret Rey. They also learned of the Rey's harrowing escape by bicycle from German occupied France during World War II and their creation of one of the best loved children's book characters, Curious George.

Students also learned how many various people are involved in the book publishing process. Editors, writers, publishers, illustrators, binders and more work together to put a book together to be sold.

Thank you Louise Borden and Mariemont Public Library!
