    To make the best possible mini-miniature golf course use the following guidelines. These are the same checklists your teachers will be using to determine your science and social studies grades.

Golf –O-Rama Science Scoring Rubric:

Prototype (20 points possible)  Your prototype  (2 ft. by 4 ft.) should include the following information:

  1. Name of  golf course and creators
  2. Sketches of 3 or 4 holes
  3. Name and sketch of 3 or more simple machines
  4. Moving part labeled
  5. Name of each hole
  6. List of materials needed and who is supplying
  7. Materials being used for borders
  8. List of structure ideas

Completed Mini-miniature golf course (60 possible points)

  1. Course sign (Name of course and creators)
  2. 3 or 4 holes
  3. A simple machine for each hole
  4. 1 or more moving parts
  5. Sign for each hole (Name of hole, description and creator)
  6. Putters and golf balls
  7. Scorecard
  8. Structures and borders
  9. Creativity and Playability 

Group Grade (20 points possible)  

  1. Did you follow directions?
  2. Did you offer ideas?
  3. Did you supply materials?
  4. Were you respectful of your group member's opinions and did you listen to others?
  5. Did you complete tasks on time and contribute to the completion of your Mini-Miniature Golf Course?

Research (group) - (40 points possible)

  1. Group research is complete.
  2. Many details given for each main topic.
  3. Group created categories to sort and organize information. 
  4. Shows that through your research you have become an expert on your period of history.

Mini-Miniature Golf Course (individual hole) - (40 points possible)

  1. Your hole is representative of your time period.
  2. Your hole represents at least 2 characteristics of your time period.
  3. Each region landmark is clearly labeled.
  4. Your hole is creative.

Group Participation (individual score) - (20 points possible)

  1. Did you follow directions?
  2. Did you offer ideas?
  3. Were you respectful of your group member's opinions and did you listen to others?
  4. Did you complete tasks on time and contribute to your group outline?
