a KWL chart on dinosaurs. Then you will be reading about dinosaurs and their characteristics. After making notes on 4 of your favorite dinosaurs, take these facts and write a paragraph for each one. A pop-up book will be your way of sharing your dinosaur facts. You will share these pop-up dinosaur books with a younger audience. You will also be comparing your dinosaur to an animal that is alive today. |

Gather | Read Dinosaur Times written by Peggy Parish. Print up four dinosaur question sheets. Select two dinosaurs from the story and fill out your question sheets. Pick two more dinosaurs from the dino table and research 2 more dinosaurs. |

Organize | Synthesize: Use the information you have
gathered on your dinosaur question sheets to create your dinosaur pop-up
book. Write 4 rough draft paragraphs
with a topic sentence, details, and closing statement.
Evaluate: Edit your paragraphs by yourself, with a friend and then with your teacher. |

Product |
Write your final draft on your pop-up book page. Illustrate your
page with your dinosaur and what its habitat might have
looked like. Make a cover including a title and author. The
cover should be bright and inviting. Glue your pages
together. Make sure they are all going the right direction.
Pick one of your dinosaurs and compare it to an animal that is alive today. Use a Venn Diagram and record your information.
