Jr. High student trip to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra:  An exciting event is scheduled for all MJHS kiddos next week. On Wednesday, January 24th, we will be taking a school trip to see the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra! This performance, part of their Young People’s Concert series, is designed especially for students in grades 6-8. Not only will this be a chance to see this amazing group perform, but the performance will take place in the newly renovated Music Hall! A huge thank you to our PTO for their assistance in making this opportunity possible for our kiddos!  On the concert day, students are encouraged to dress up if they would like. We will be leaving school around 9:45am and returning around 12:00. We will have a bit of a later lunch when we return to school, but the cafeteria will be open for students to purchase lunch here at school if they wish. We will be transported by Mariemont bus and chaperoned by teachers. Since you signed off in Final Forms giving permission for field trips, there is nothing else that you need to do at this time to give permission. Thank you as always for your ongoing support. We are thrilled to be able to provide these experiences for our kiddos!  ~ Molly

Additional information about the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performance:  The concert we will be seeing is Express Yourself. For centuries, people have turned to music to express emotions and ideas that can’t be described through words alone. Join the orchestra and explore the power of music to communicate emotion, share different cultures, and ignite change. This concert features Shostakovich’s powerful Symphony No. 5, music inspired by the poetry of Dr. Maya Angelou, American patriotic songs, and the winner of the annual YPC Melody Contest!

Congratulations to the 7th grade girls Gold team for the 43-4 victory over Deer Park. Anna lead the way with 9 points and Lydia cleaned up the glass with 8 rebounds. Ladies head to Loveland today. Good Luck Ladies!!!

Both boys' basketball teams played really well yesterday against Deer Park, with the 7th grade winning 42 - 15 and the 8th grade 52 - 32.  Next up is Loveland today, again on our home court, and the student support for both teams is really appreciated.
