11-16-17 Announcements

Spanish Club and Latin Club will be selling “pulseras”, or bracelets, to help improve the lives of youth and artisans in Nicaragua. All proceeds will go to empowering these artists and improving the schools in their communities. Bracelets are only $5 and will be sold during lunch until Fall Break. Find a Spanish or Latin Club member to learn more about the Pulsera Project or to buy one of these colorful bracelets!


TOMORROW (11/17) is the Jr. High Winter Dance from 6:30 – 8:30 in the Commons/Gym.  Admission is $5 and includes pizza, drinks and snacks.  Dressy Casual (school dress code applies). Examples, for boys would be khakis, nice jeans collared or button-down shirt.  For Girls: dressy top with nice slacks or jeans, dress or skirt.  Parents please see PTO dance volunteer sign-up instructions at the end of this announcement page.


The Mariemont/Terrace Park Lacrosse program (2nd grade through 12th grade) will be having a program-wide parent and player meeting on December 5th from 7:00 until 8:00 pm at Mariemont Elementary.


A reminder to basketball team members practicing at Mariemont Elementary:  Players wait in the Commons until the bus arrives between 3:15 – 3:20 and then board the bus in front of the building.  Remember the importance of good behavior while waiting at the JH and when arriving at Mariemont Elementary. 


Mariemont High School's annual HOLIDAY FAIR will take place on Friday, December 1st, from 5-8pmin the high school gym! This festive community wide event will feature games, prizes, treats, crafts, face painting, dinner options, and more! Come support the high school's various clubs and sports teams at this fun-filled event! Any questions contact Patty Dewey at



Friday’s winter sports pictures are canceled and will be rescheduled at a later time.  Your coach will provide additional information. 


Mariemont High School presents Harvey, a Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy by Mary Chase. Stage Agent describes the play as the story of a perfect gentleman, Elwood P. Dowd, and his best friend, Harvey -- a six-foot tall, invisible rabbit. Performances are at 7 p.m. Nov. 16, 17 and 18. Tickets are available online and at the high school box office during lunch hours (11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) the week of the performance. The box office will also be open one hour before showtime each performance night.  Tickets purchased at the box office can be paid with either check or cash. Credit card payments can only be made online.  All tickets are general admission and are $5 for students and seniors; $10 for adults. Canned good donations (no glass, please) will be accepted at the door to benefit hurricane victims in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.



November 20 is the final parent/teacher conference (4:00 – 8:00).  Parents may sign up for conferences using parent name and student ID Please call the Jr. High office if assistance is needed (272-7300).




Late Arrival / Early Dismissal Procedure:  Parents please send a note to school with your student if they need to leave early for an appointment or other reason.  Please remind your student to bring the note to the office upon arrival (prior to first bell class) where they will receive a pass to leave class early and wait at the office until you arrive.  If this procedure is followed, your student will be sent outside to meet you upon your arrival.  In place of a note to school you may email Mrs. Murray prior to 8:30
