9-8-17 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Looking for something to do on a Saturday night?  The Warrior Run is a super fun annual event featuring a 5K race, and one-mile walk AND free food and games with your registration!  This year, the run will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the Bell Tower Park in Mariemont.  Want to participate in a 5K run?  A 1-mile walk?  Or just come for the free food and movie at dark!  A portion of the proceeds go to our school district and help fund programs sponsored by the Climate Council!  Hope to see you there! The 7th grade girls volleyball started their season 2-1 with great wins over Finneytown and Indian Hill. They played a good Reading team last night and came up short 25-19, 25-21. They return on Monday vs Taylor at 430.   The 8th grade girls volleyball took a hard fought loss last night to Reading 25-17 and 25-19. They will return home on Monday vs Taylor at 530pm.

 The MJHS Golfers played Milford yesterday afternoon at Elks Run. The front 9 presented a challenging par 36 on a beautiful afternoon. At the end of the day Milford got in just ahead of the Warrior Golfers 186-192. It was a tough battle down to the final strokes of the match. Our top scorer for the match was Tom Buchert shooting a 41, just a single stroke off the medalist score. Ethan Murray – 48, Luke Brennaman – 50, Thomas Sauter – 53, Wil Glassmeyer – 54, Sam Northrop – 58.  Our next match is on Saturday, 9/9 - Little Miami Open - We will have 6 golfers playing in the Championship Division (9 holes regulation + 9 holes par 3), and 5 golfers playing in the Par 3 Division (9 holes par 3).

 

Girls junior high tennis defeated Cardinal Pacelli yesterday with singles wins from Kate Taylor, Abby Black, Laney Riportella, and doubles wins from teams Marlo Santoro and Lucy Neville, Daniella and Reagan, Ellison and Annie, Mira and Caitlin, Rachael and Sadie, Jacqueline and Lydia, Peyton and Reagan, Benner and Annie, and Grace Erickson and Ellison.  Congrats to all the girls!

The Mariemont Junior High Back-To-School Dance will be held on Friday, September 8, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm outside in the Junior High school parking lot (weather permitting). This event is a fun way for students to kick off the start of the school year and enjoy dancing and playing games.  Admission is $5 and includes pizza, drinks and snacks.   Smart Casual (school dress code applies). Examples: nice jeans, slacks or dress shorts, collared shirt, casual dresses. 

The Annual MJH Football / Community Tailgate Party hosted by the Mariemont Athletic Boosters takes place on Friday, September 8 from 5:00 – 6:30 at Kusel Stadium. All proceeds help to support the Mariemont Athletic Boosters.   Good Food – Good Fun – Good Cause – GO WARRIORS!

The 31st Annual Kiwanis Art & Craft Fair will be held on Sunday, September 10 from 11a.m until 5pm on Wooster Pike in the center of Mariemont.  Free parking and admission.   A wide variety of unique original art, crafts, painting and photographs will be featured.  All proceeds benefit the Mariemont High School scholarship fund. 

Late Arrival / Early Dismissal Procedure:  Parents please send a note to school with your student if they need to leave early for an appointment or other reason.  Please remind your student to bring the note to the office upon arrival (prior to first bell class) where they will receive a pass to leave class early and wait at the office until you arrive.  If this procedure is followed, your student will be sent outside to meet you upon your arrival.  In place of a note to school you may email Mrs. Murray prior to 8:30 pmurray@mariemontschools.org
