Mariemont High School seniors Emily Ferguson and Drew Fiorenza are recipients of the 2017 DECA Emerging Leader Honor Award. This award recognizes students studying marketing, finance, hospitality and management for being academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible and experienced leaders through participation in DECA.
The students are part of the High School of Business program offered by Great Oaks Career Campuses at Mariemont High School, and are members of the DECA student business and marketing organization.
Each award recipient must be a DECA member in his/her senior year of high school with a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 3.2 by the end of seven semesters.
DECA is an international career technical student organization composed of more than 210,000 students who are interested in marketing, entrepreneurship, finance, hospitality or management. DECA enhances the preparation for college and careers by providing co-curricular programs that integrate into classroom instruction, apply learning, connect to business and promote competition. DECA student members leverage their DECA experience to become academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible and experienced leaders.
