Christy has been a Warrior for nearly as long as she can remember. She started attending school in the Mariemont City School District in third grade, met her husband Joe at Mariemont High School, has had two children graduate from the district (one of them lives in Mariemont and another married a fellow Warrior), lives in Mariemont, volunteered on the Mariemont School Foundation as a trustee and now has a new baby granddaughter in her life – possibly a future Warrior!
“Joining the Warrior Club was a natural progression and a way to keep involved with the district,” said Christy.
As a parent, she was “pleased with how well prepared my children were for college. I appreciated that the size of Mariemont High School allowed the students to participate in a variety of activities. The smaller class sizes allowed the students to interact with the teachers on a daily basis.”
And as a student, she most valued the life-long friendships she made, and the groups she was involved in, such as Student Council, swim team, National Honors Society, Breakfast Club, chorus, school musicals and the yearbook staff. Her class – the Class of 1976 – recently celebrated its 40th reunion, which included a guided tour of the high school and catching up with her class at 50 West and at a fellow classmate’s home. She said this reunion was without a doubt her favorite reunion to date.
“The camaraderie of the Class of 1976 is incredible. I feel grateful for the lifelong friendships made at Mariemont High School.”
Christy and her husband are content with where they live and are happy with the lives they have built in the community.
“We don’t think there is a better place to raise a family than in Mariemont. The schools are top notch and we love the walkability and beauty of our village.”
The Warrior Club is open to residents of the school district that no longer have children attending school in the district and/or are age 55 years or older. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a member of this free club, click here.
