ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Thursday, SEPTEMBER 7, 2017

  1. Campus Life will meet today during both lunches.  1st lunch will meet in Room C20 and 2nd lunch in Mrs. Thomas’ room, room 28.
     
  2. The following colleges and universities will be visiting in the CCPC this week:

-Today the United States Marine Corp will be here at 1:10.

-Ohio University will be here on Friday at 10:35 am.

  1. Mariemont Girls United will be meeting today in the upper library for a brief introduction. Should last about 15 minutes and snacks will be provided. Bring your friends
     
  2. Students who are participating in the Student Curriculum Committee should be sure to check their emails today. 
     
  3. Attention World Affairs Club:  There will be a brief World Affairs Club meeting, again, after school today in Mr. Wolfford’s room, room 18.
     
  4. Congrats to the varsity girls’ soccer team for their huge win over Madeira last night. Ashley Rothert had the goal while the entire Warrior team contributed to the victory! 
     
  5. Detention today will be served with Mrs. Neumann in Room 9.
     
  6. Do you want to learn more about ancient Rome outside of class? Stop by Mr. Ferry's room right after school today to join the Latin club! Even if you don't have time to stay for the whole meeting, feel free to sign up and grab an informational sheet.
     
  7. Registration is still open for any student wishing to join Key Club.  Please bring $12.50 in dues to Mrs. Bell ASAP.  Also, volunteers are needed to guide parents during Open House on Monday Sept. 18th.  See Mrs. Bell or sign up on the Key Club bulletin board in the social studies pod.
     
  8. AFS! If you would like to join the AFS Club, please see senora Timmerding or officers Cassidy Bollman or Nate Michaelson.  Dues will be $5.  JOIN!! It’s the best ever!
     
  9. Have you been going back and forth trying decide whether or not you want go on one of our awesome trips this upcoming summer?  Yellowstone National Park with Mr. Zaya?  The Global Leaders’ Summit in Berlin with Mrs. Bell?  The service trip to Peru with Mr. Vanags?  The deadlines are fast approaching.  The last day to sign up for the Global Leaders’ Summit and the Yellowstone trip is September 15th.  If you have any questions or want more details, please see Mr. Schnug or any of the teachers going.  Don’t miss your chance.
     
  10. This week, MHS will be honored to welcome Kelsey Timmerman, the author of Where Am I Wearing for a day long visit. Mr. Timmerman will speak to the entire student body in the morning, and then will host several break-out sessions. Interested students are encouraged to sign-up for one of these Sessions, but they are limited to 50 students. Your English teacher will provide more details. You must sign-up before Friday, otherwise you will not be permitted to attend the session. Sign-up sheets are on the front office counter.
     
  11. Need community service hours?  The Terrace Park Labor Day Yard Sale is looking for strong volunteers to help with heavy item pick today from 6-9 pm. We are also looking for anyone who can bring a pick-up truck that we can use to move the items.  In addition, we need volunteers next Saturday, September 9th from 11:00 – 2:00 to help pack up the leftover items.  If interested, contact Carole Wilkinson at cpdwilkinson@gmail.com.
     
  12. Stepping Stones is also looking for volunteers ages 13 and up to help out at their Saturday programs which run from September through April.  If you are interested, flyers are available in the CCPC.
     
  13. Join the HS Challenge for the Warrior Run on Sept 30!  The winning HS receives a Skyline lunch. Click here to register.
