ANNOUNCEMENTS -- Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 6, 2017

  1. Campus Life will meet tomorrow during both lunches.  1st lunch will meet in Room C20 and 2nd lunch in Mrs. Thomas’ room, room 28.
     
  2. Tomorrow, September 7th, Mariemont Girls United will meet for the first time in the CCPC right after school.  Mariemont Girls United is a club dedicated to providing a supportive and affirming school environment for all students.  During meetings, discussions are surrounded around ways to have a positive outlook on life and ways to become more confident.  All students are welcome.
     
  3. Mariemont High School's Art Club will have our very first meeting today after school! Get in touch with your creative side by helping us paint the walls of the school or making and decorating your own furniture! Contact Alex Wilson or Abby Dodson if you have questions. See you in the art room on Wednesday!
     
  4. Do you want to learn more about ancient Rome outside of class? Stop by Mr. Ferry's room right after school tomorrow to join the Latin club! Even if you don't have time to stay for the whole meeting, feel free to sign up and grab an informational sheet.
     
  5. Any Student wishing to join Key Club should see Mrs. Bell. Dues must be paid by this Friday.
     
  6. Attention World Affairs Club:  There will be a brief World Affairs Club meeting for returning members of World Affairs Club after school today in Mr. Wolfford’s room, room 18.
     
  7. AFS! If you would like to join the AFS Club, please see senora Timmerding or officers Cassidy Bollman or Nate Michaelson.  Dues will be $5.  JOIN!! It’s the best ever!
     
  8. Students who auditioned for the fall play yesterday should return to the auditorium this afternoon at 3pm for callbacks.  If you cannot attend, see Mr. Weiss. 
     
  9. Have you been going back and forth trying decide whether or not you want go on one of our awesome trips this upcoming summer?  Yellowstone National Park with Mr. Zaya?  The Global Leaders’ Summit in Berlin with Mrs. Bell?  The service trip to Peru with Mr. Vanags?  The deadlines are fast approaching.  The last day to sign up for the Global Leaders’ Summit and the Yellowstone trip is September 15th.  If you have any questions or want more details, please see Mr. Schnug or any of the teachers going.  Don’t miss your chance.
     
  10. This week, MHS will be honored to welcome Kelsey Timmerman, the author of Where Am I Wearing for a day long visit. Mr. Timmerman will speak to the entire student body in the morning, and then will host several break-out sessions. Interested students are encouraged to sign-up for one of these Sessions, but they are limited to 50 students. Your English teacher will provide more details. You must sign-up before Friday, otherwise you will not be permitted to attend the session. Sign-up sheets will be available in the front office after school today through Thursday.
     
  11. Need community service hours?  The Terrace Park Labor Day Yard Sale is looking for strong volunteers to help with heavy item pick up this Thursday Sept 7 from 6-9 pm. We are also looking for anyone who can bring a pick-up truck that we can use to move the items.  In addition, we need volunteers next Saturday, September 9th from 11:00 – 2:00 to help pack up the leftover items.  If interested, contact Carole Wilkinson at cpdwilkinson@gmail.com.
     
  12. Stepping Stones is also looking for volunteers ages 13 and up to help out at their Saturday programs which run from September through April.  If you are interested, flyers are available in the CCPC.
     
  13. Join the HS Challenge for the Warrior Run on Sept 30!  The winning HS receives a Skyline lunch. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER or the link is on blackboard. Consider signing up to run/ walk 1 mile or 5k, volunteer and get service hours, or just donate to a great cause- teen mental health and wellness!  See Jonah Dill or Kayla Dewey for more information.
