2017 Author Visit

Louise Borden will be here on November 2 and 3

MEPTO is excited to welcome accomplished hometown author, Louise Borden, on November 2 & 3. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1949 and inspired by a grandmother who loved history, Borden grew up fascinated by the stories of ordinary people and their relation to historical events. After attending Denison University, she worked as a teaching assistant and later as a teacher for young children, and realized a lifelong dream when she became co-owner of The Bookshelf, a bookstore in her hometown of Cincinnati. It was when the younger of her two daughters started elementary school that Borden began to work on her first children's book, "Caps, Hats, Socks, and Mittens: A Book About the Four Seasons." Her love of history as well as her experience as a teacher and mother have come into play in the books that followed. Borden enjoys playing tennis, watching baseball (she's still an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds), and reading, a pastime which keeps her mindful of the interests of her audience.

See the order form for a list of available books by Louise Borden -- build your child's library by purchasing a signed copy from a hometown favorite! Order form due to school by 10/13.
