Hello! My name is Amy Leatherwood, affectionately known around the school as “Ldub.” I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in History and Secondary Education from Xavier University in 1995. I received my Master of Education Degree, Secondary Education, also from Xavier, but in 2006. This school year (2009-10) is my eleventh year teaching. Prior to my arrival at Mariemont, I taught at Princeton High School as well as in a drug rehabilitation program. I am married with three children (see pictures here), Abby, age 10, Matt, 7, and Charlie, 2 months. In my spare time, I like attending my kid’s soccer (and various other sports) games, chasing my dog, camping, gardening, and the like. I’m a big fan of Shelby Foote, red staplers, not sushi (especially when pregnant), FIFA tournaments with my BFF Mr. Vanags, and Forrest Gump. I co-moderate the amazing group Unified for UNIFAT (see details here), along with Mr. Vanags. Student leaders include Alyssa Dockery, Nikki Gauche', and Hannah Swords. See one of us to find out how you can help. Any other questions? Email me, ask me in class, (parents) call me, etc. Thank you :)
