MaryBeth grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and began studying music at age 8. Throughout elementary and middle school she played piano, sang in chorus and added cello to her studies. During high school she became involved in theater and accompanied and sang in choral and ensemble groups. She participated in All- County and All-State Orchestra and Chorus and played with the Louisville Youth Orchestra. After graduation from Atherton High School, MaryBeth attended Cincinnati Christian University where she obtained her Bachelor of Music degree. She later received a Master of Arts and a Master of Divinity from the Cincinnati Bible Seminary. She has furthered her graduate work in string pedagogy at the Ohio State University and is currently a graduate student studying music education at Xavier University.

MaryBeth teaches String Orchestra and Directs string ensembles made up of children in grades 5-12.   During her career as a music educator, MaryBeth has also taught General Music, Children's Choir, Jr. High Chorus, Jr. High Mixed Instrumental Ensemble, Vocal Ensemble, Piano & Hand Bells. She has directed 13 musicals and has led her choral & orchestral groups in outstanding festival appearances and performances.  Her students have also performed in New York, Austria, Montreal and for Magic Music Days in Orlando.

MaryBeth has been married to her husband Sam for 16 years.  They love to travel and have collectively been to 22 different countries.  They also share interests in archaeology (they met on a dig), ancient near eastern & Byzantine studies, hanging out with family, road trips, weekend walking and caribou coffee.  They have a total of 27 nieces and nephews.

MaryBeth has a love for kids and a passion for bringing music and the arts into her student’s lives. She strives to help kids realize their God-given talents, to grow toward reaching their full potential and to discover the fullness of life that comes from experiencing and sharing the gifts within them.
